After they officially got together, the two institutes held a joint meeting one day. During the break, Zhao Yucan squeezed into the break room with her cup and happened to see Chen Qingrang getting hot water.
“What a coincidence.” Zhao Yucan leaned over and lightly bumped her shoulder.
Chen Qingrang’s hand was steady. Not a drop of hot water spilled. “Mm.”
“Want to have dinner together tonight?”
“Sure.”
“Then you can drive us home.”
“Okay.”
Their short conversation ended, and Chen Qingrang was about to leave after filling her cup. Zhao Yucan suddenly reached out and fished a piece of fruit candy from her coat pocket.
“Thanks.” Zhao Yucan waved the candy in her hand, her eyes curving into crescents.
Chen Qingrang looked at her and smiled faintly.
Zhao Yucan raised her chin smugly. “Now do you understand why I put candy in the pocket of someone who doesn’t even like sweets before we left this morning?”
