A True-Blooded Earthling

Perhaps Xie E was getting old. Everyone around him started trying meditation, sitting in quiet contemplation, and practicing Zen. At some point, they all began claiming they had felt the call of a mysterious power.

The account manager said he had been a lizard person in his past life, demoted to Earth after making a mistake at work.

His boss said he was a Hollow Earth dweller, descended from ancestors who crawled up to the surface through a crack.

A coworker said he was actually a young attendant of the Supreme Lord Lao, sent down to undergo a trial.

Exhausted, Xie E went home for a meal, only for his mother to serve him a table full of vegetarian dishes and say she had been a celestial herb growing before a bodhisattva in her past life.

They all said they didn't belong here, and that they were going to leave.

But where was Xie E supposed to go?

Eventually, they started practicing and giving lectures at the office, too. Not wanting to stand out, Xie E casually made up an identity for himself as an alien.

To his surprise, he was pulled into the "Alien Hometown Group."

Morning lessons every day, gatherings every week, and a big event every month left Xie E physically and mentally exhausted.

He thought everything would be fine once this period passed and everyone came to their senses. But then he noticed that more and more things were going wrong at work.

Oh no. It seemed they really were aliens, young attendants, celestial herbs, and lizard people.

What about me?

In the end, everyone dropped their disguises and asked him, "Xie E, what are you, really?"

Xie E answered with thunderous force: "I'm a bona fide Earthling."

Sing together: Bona fide Earthlings, all of us bona fide Earthlings!
