Fu Pei has an angel's face and the airs of a spoiled brat. He isn't ashamed of it; he's proud. He loves his freedom and uses his pretty, innocent face to throw his weight around and get away with murder. He despises arranged marriages above all else.
Then one day, he learns he'll be marrying Xie Shengqing. Stern and old-fashioned, vindictive, ruthless, and heartless, Xie Shengqing has long been at the top of Fu Pei's list of most-hated people.
Fu Pei goes to a forum under the username "What's wrong with being a spoiled brat?" and asks for advice. Someone suggests: Aren't you a spoiled brat? Then act up as much as you like. He won't be able to stand you and will call off the engagement himself!
Fu Pei ponders. Fu Pei sees the light. Fu Pei puts the plan into practice. He makes Xie Shengqing remove the seeds from his strawberries, uses him as a pillow, and warms his hands against Xie Shengqing's abs...

Fu Pei deliberately makes Xie Shengqing's hands cold, but Xie Shengqing presses them to his chest. "Peipei, is this warmer?"
Fu Pei: ...Bro, is this how it's supposed to go? How am I going to get this engagement called off at this rate?!
Fu Pei rolls around in bed and calls a friend to complain, while Xie Shengqing listens from outside the door with a smile.
Fu Pei thinks he's putting on a fearsome show, but his almond-shaped eyes are sweet, his cheeks soft, and his little canines flash when he smiles. He has no idea how adorable he is.

Just as Fu Pei starts wondering why Xie Shengqing still hasn't called off the engagement, he accidentally learns that Xie Shengqing isn't the person he's supposed to marry at all.
Fu Pei tremblingly grabs his older brother's sleeve. "Big brother, what did you say happens to people who make Xie Shengqing angry?"
His brother puts on a grave expression. "I heard A's company went bankrupt overnight, B was sent to Africa to feed lions, and C was exiled to Siberia to dig potatoes."
Fu Pei: ...
Fu Pei: Is there still time to run?
Fu Pei, caught while trying to run: Clearly, there isn't. :)
Fu Pei tearfully grovels. "I have to wear a bell, too? A thigh band as well?! I really can't wear a tail..."
Xie Shengqing grabs his ankle and drags him back, wiping the tears from Fu Pei's eyes before suddenly smiling. "If I hold your tail, Peipei won't run away again."

Much later, after a wedding of the century, a long-dormant forum thread gets bumped back to the top. At the same time, someone digs up a post from an ID made up of a string of numbers.
"Peipei, I've loved you for so long. Turn around and look at me."
