A heroine driven to the brink of "jumping off a building" by work x a hero who travels a thousand miles to "lie in wait" for love
I dedicate this book
to all of us who are struggling in place in life, confused and unable to find answers.
When you can't make a decision about something, it means the time isn't right yet.
Fate will offer us a solution again and again.
Don't worry.
Wait a little longer, and it'll soon be resolved.
[Six silent near-misses in a past life lead to a lifetime together in this one. The seventh is both the ending and the beginning.]
Ruan Qingxu worked in the public sector. At twenty-seven, she chose to resign. It was an awkward age, neither here nor there...
She had once seen a colleague resign, and heard another ask, "Why leave? If you stay, you can work here for the rest of your life. You'll have a respectable job, a stable income, and maybe even a promising romance."
Now Ruan Qingxu wanted to answer that colleague's question: "If I don't leave, sooner or later I'll jump off the office building."
Later, she went to Shangri-La for a three-month stay and met an "antelope prince." Ruan Qingxu poured all the feelings she'd accumulated over twenty-seven years into that moment. She understood that some people really could be described as love at first sight.
Those three months in Shangri-La were more relaxed and carefree than any time in Ruan Qingxu's first twenty-seven years. Nobody knew her, and she no longer had to worry about other people's feelings.
Everything that should and shouldn't have happened between her and this "antelope prince" happened... But she knew perfectly well that she didn't belong there, and he wouldn't belong to her either. Later, rather than leaving without a word, she chose to talk things through openly with him.
Later, she returned to Haicheng. As it happened, one of her former work contacts had learned she'd resigned and sincerely invited her to work with them. There, she "ran into" the "antelope prince" again.
Only then did she learn that the so-called "antelope prince," Lu Zeheng, was actually the executive director of Haicheng's leading tech company and the eldest son of the Lu family. He'd gone to Shangri-La to work with the local culture and tourism bureau. His original one-month trip had stretched into three...
Fate cannot be resisted.
Love is what guides you toward where you belong.
You are my beginning and my end. Now that we've started, I won't let go. --Lu Zeheng
A few rambling thoughts about this story:
Lately, the term "Odyssey years" has been all over my feed, and it made me think of Qingqing. But it isn't just her. We're all in our own Odyssey years. Some of us have just begun, while others are almost ready to leave... Though maybe none of us ever really leave. No matter how old we are, we can still feel lost, bewildered, and as if we have nowhere to belong.
Finding a job you like and believe in, or someone you love who loves you back, seems like a luxury in today's society. Everyone is struggling in pain. That's why I started this story. If I can't have the life I want in reality, then I'll let Qingqing live it for me. I'll let her see the grasslands, do work she loves, and love someone.
Not just for me, but for all of us who don't dare move forward...

"Li Shu seemed to suddenly recall something..." This is a big bug for the author~ Li Ke
The teacher's style actually feels like a fairy tale. Although there are many places that are a little bit dumpy, I have to say that the male protagonist created in such a fairy tale style will always have an inexplicable sincerity like a silly elder sister, which is good-looking!
