Life has many turning points.

Zhou Duo was always the extra one in her family, but she still knew there was love there. It just depended on your age and gender.

Growing up brought many changes that followed her like a shadow, until she could barely breathe.

So Zhou Duo took the fortune-teller's advice and left her hometown.

She came to the Nanjia Great Wilderness, where faith, wildness, and miracles coexist.

Ancient glaciers shimmered with a ghostly light beneath the blue sky, while prayer flags fluttered of their own accord in the uninhabited wilderness.

Apart from being as poor as ever, it didn't seem like such a bad place.

But Jiang Shanyue's arrival was like a butterfly over the Amazon River.

With a gentle beat of her wings, she slowly smoothed away Zhou Duo's insecurity, timidity, and self-destruction.

Plot: During the Odyssey of her life, Zhou Duo meets the person who will show her the way.

Back then, she understood nothing. She looked up at that lamp, thinking it was bright and warm, and that simply being able to stand beneath it for the rest of her life would be lucky enough.

Somehow, the two of them ended up sleeping together. Zhou Duo herself couldn't say how it began. Insecure and sensitive, she made herself smaller and smaller, until she was small enough to fit into the space Jiang Shanyue casually left for her, doing whatever she was told.

Later, Jiang Shanyue returned to the capital.

Not long after she got back, they lost touch. Then one day, Zhou Duo saw Jiang Shanyue's name on the news, beside another name and a photo of them together. An engagement. The letters were small, but each one cut deep and clear.

Hate was stronger than love. She hadn't recognized love at the time. Only after the other woman left did she slowly taste it: sweet, but spoiled. Hate was different. It sank deep and held fast, keeping her awake at night.

Much later, Zhou Duo ran into Jiang Shanyue again, at a dinner table.

"President Jiang, I'm not your dog. You can't just call me over with a wave."
