A rough introduction:
Thanks to his broken family and oppressive school life, the male lead has suffered from delusions since childhood.
He helped deliver a litter of kittens. Their mother died a few months later, and he began thinking of the kittens as his own children.
As time went by, he thought, I gave birth to these kittens.
The kind older girl who moved in across the hall treated him and the kittens well. During puberty, he accidentally caught her in an intimate moment with her boyfriend, and the memory stayed with him for a long, long time.
So men can... do that.
He bit his lower lip until his mouth tasted like rust. The kitten rubbed against him, asking him for food.
Whenever he saw her, he imagined how nice it would be if she were the kitten's mother.
Then the two of them wouldn't go hungry, wouldn't be bullied by classmates, and wouldn't be beaten by their parents.
As time went by, he became convinced that he had given the older girl across the hall a kitten.
Part Two
The female lead breaks up with her boyfriend.
The strange boy across the hall often talks to himself. She hears that he got into a good university, and his parents, acting unlike themselves for once, are preparing a celebration banquet.
She's still wondering whether to go when the boy suddenly knocks softly on her door.
When she opens it, he stands there awkwardly, holding the cat that he's fattened up.
"The baby's put on some weight. It's really cute... When will you come see it... and me?"
