The wind of the wilds x the moon in chains
Slow burn, plot-focused
Before she officially entered the world of cultivation, her family gave her a few reminders:
First, you only get one life: be polite to others, and run if you can't win.
Second, keep your identity a secret: never reveal where you come from without good reason.
Third, cultivate whenever you have nothing else to do: this is a world where the strong rule.
Fourth, stay optimistic and confident: say your name out loud.
Fifth, Jiuzhou is vast and boundless: no matter how far you travel, don't forget the way home.
At the latest Eight Directions Immortal Gathering, a strange young girl appeared.
She didn't recognize a single one of the great clans and sects, and knew none of the usual immortal techniques or moves.
She fought on instinct, struck in unexpected ways, and with nothing but a dark, battered saber, snatched a spot in a secret realm from a crowd of prodigies.
After the competition, people were surprised to see that the previous year's champion, who always kept to himself, actually walked up to her and quietly asked, “Are you hurt?”
This mysterious young woman quickly caught the attention of every faction in the cultivation world.
Some said she came from a reclusive sect that had stayed hidden for years. Others said she was the personal disciple of a peerless master. There were even those who claimed she was the illegitimate daughter of some big shot...
Only a handful of senior cultivators said nothing as they looked at her familiar features and the saber that should have disappeared along with that person...
The secret investigation report contained only one line:
“Wild-born. From the mountains.”
As far back as she could remember, she had lived on this nameless mountain. When hungry, she picked wild fruit; when thirsty, she drank from the stream. She fell asleep to the roars of beasts and the chirping of insects. This wild, uncivilized life didn't last long. A few strange people came to find her. They gave her warm food and soft clothes, and gave her a name: A Wu, later also known as Luo Zhaowu.
They led her to a newly built courtyard. The mountain breeze stirred, and the wind chimes under the eaves rang clear and sweet.
“Look,” one of them said, gently pushing her back. “This will be your home from now on.”
Reader's guide and content notes:
1. The story leans toward an ensemble cast. There are male supporting characters, but they don't have much page time and mainly serve as plot devices.
2. The heroine grows over the course of the story, and none of the characters are perfect.
3. An alternate world with many original settings.
4. The cultivation realms, from lowest to highest, are Qi Refining, Foundation Establishment, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Deity Transformation, Great Ascension, and Tribulation Crossing. Each major realm is divided into early, middle, and late stages.
5. I'm still not very good at writing blurbs.
6. More to come. Welcome to read; stay or leave as you please.
