When Jiang Huai'an graduated from elementary school, his parents took him to an amusement park to celebrate. On the way, he was drawn to a cat and followed it into a dark alley, where he got lost. Young Shen Qinghe rescued him. To repay him, Jiang Huai'an vowed to adopt him. Influenced by his childhood and his birth parents, Shen Qinghe's feelings for Jiang Huai'an grew increasingly twisted, causing Jiang Huai'an to detest him intensely later on.
