I'll Haunt You Even as a Ghost

The RV crashed and veered into a remote forest in the mountains.

An abandoned school that didn’t exist on any map appeared before them.

There was endless delicious food in the school, endless entertainment, old movies playing in the classrooms, and dormitory beds so soft you never wanted to get up.

Everything seemed so beautiful and harmonious, until the first murder.

“Are you afraid of me?”

“Don’t worry. I’ll never hurt you.”

“You’re the only one who is... the only one.”

“I want you to stay here. Forever and ever.”

Candles were lit, illuminating a floor strewn with blood and severed limbs. The boy, one eye blue, leaned in among the corpses and gave me a gentle kiss.

What a romantic scene.

All I felt was terror engulfing my mind.

I had to escape.

Get out of here.

I knew what he wanted: revenge. We deserved it.

I also knew why he had spared me: it was all a complete misunderstanding.

He thought I was the only one among them who had ever shown him kindness.

But that wasn’t true.

I was the one who had snitched.

If it weren’t for me, he never would have died.
