His finger gently brushed her lips. Pei Zhaolin let out a low sigh, and the gentle facade he had worn for years fell away completely.
“I’ve pretended to be your gentle elder brother for long enough, Lingshu. Stop letting the title of brother and sister keep us apart. Marry me, and let me protect you. I have my own way of dealing with the marriage Father arranged for you.”
