Winter Break 2026, Story No. 3
[The Cat Has Nine Lives, and You Are My Ninth]
The day Dai Miao died was the first day of their marriage.
They awoke to a beautiful morning, but by nightfall, he was a lone star cursed by fate.
She had not even left him a body.
And yet, at their very first reunion,
Zhao Mingting pointed his blade at him, wary and on guard.
Looking three parts alike might be forgivable. Looking exactly alike is a debt from the King of Hell.
.
Zhao Mingting had never believed in gods or Buddhas.
He left home at seven and built everything from nothing.
Even the King of Hell and the demons could not match the ruthlessness of his methods.
Yet a man like him would kneel beneath a statue of Guanyin,
praying for Dai Miao to return.
They met when they were seven, started a business at eighteen, and married at twenty-eight.
He had been by his side for twenty-one years.
Their house grew bigger, Dai Miao grew more spoiled, and Zhao Mingting grew more successful.
But a car accident took his beloved's life.
Then, three months later, they met again.
The fingerprints, temperament, and appearance
were exactly the same.
Unable to bear losing him again,
they were struck by a bolt of lightning,
both lost their memories and fell in love at first sight.
His heartbeat recognized you before his eyes did.
But...
"Why am I a stand-in for Dai Miao's first love?"
"Why am I a stand-in for Zhao Mingting's ex-wife?"
A messy stand-in romance, a twist of fate.
One true love, clear-headed surrender.
1. An innocent, flirtatious bottom x a ghostly, fatherly top
One-on-one, each other's first love, fake stand-ins, childhood friends, childhood cats, SC, HE
There will occasionally be flashbacks to their early startup days, with a little sweetness sprinkled in. It's a bright, sugary story about life in a rented apartment.
Zhao Mingting's name sounds like "stop your life," which isn't very auspicious. But he needs to keep giving Dai Miao (a tortoiseshell cat) extra lives.
Basically, you have plenty of lives, but in every lifetime, you'll risk yours for Dai Miao.
The names are fictional and aren't tied to any particular region.
The drama of this stand-in romance comes purely from the two of them not being on the same page.
Miao is an impulsive little cat, and extremely forward.
The true reunion only happens once every clue has been gathered.
But it's also as if the two of them get to fall in love all over again (.
2. The bottom has to kiss the top once a month to stay alive, or he'll turn back into a cat
3. The top really does go through hell early on, then really does go through hell chasing the cat later
Theme: All living beings are equal
