Zhou Yuewei has two major gripes with novels:
Happy endings? Artificially sweet, utterly unoriginal.
Bad endings? Tragedy for tragedy's sake, forcing the reader to suffer.
Then she unexpectedly dies and gets bound to a "Suspense" System. The System tells her to change the endings of the novels she's complained about into open endings that leave readers on tenterhooks.
Zhou Yuewei: "Are you crazy? Open endings are the best way to get readers furious."
The System calmly opens a panel: "Look. Every time you make a complaint, your resurrection progress increases by 0.0000001."
So the novels end like this:
Tragic romance hero: "When I return victorious, I'll marry you." (Then he disappears forever into the snowstorm.)
Sweet romance hero: "XX, will you marry me?" (His memory suddenly cuts out, and he takes back the ring.)
Later, the comment sections of novels everywhere are filled with wails:
"Author, explain yourself! Do the leads end up together or not?"
Crawling around ominously in a campus romance, Zhou Yuewei sneezes and quietly destroys half the love letter the male lead wrote to the heroine.
Note: The heroine isn't quite that selfish. There are twists.
Theme: Enough is as good as a feast.
