A Cannon Fodder, Yet First in the Academy

Ji Lin was born on a garbage planet. To cure the terminal illness he'd had all his life, he bonded with a beginner System and took on the role of a cannon-fodder character to move the plot along.

System 008 (full of confidence): Host, our mission is to win over the protagonist, toy with him, and make him pine for us, go crazy for us, and bang his head against a wall for us!

Ji Lin (calmly): Oh, so I just follow the script, have a romance, and make off with his star coins.

Tianqi Academy was the Federation's top school, full of privileged young elites with their noses in the air. As a special-admission student, Ji Lin only wanted to slack off and quietly follow the plot.

But to his surprise, these darlings of heaven turned out to be unexpectedly obedient...

And then there was that aloof protagonist, who was far too cooperative with his romance script.

Weren't they supposed to be proud and arrogant?

A famous special-admission student arrived at Tianqi Academy. On his very first day, he gave everyone a show of force with his domineering, overwhelming mental domain.

Yet he was lazy and carefree, his ink-dark eyes free of malice, as if it were nothing more than a trivial matter, not enough to stir the slightest ripple.

No one could forget that feeling.

It was like gazing up at the boundless depths of the universe. In that moment of silence, everything felt insignificant, like dust adrift in an ancient river of stars.

He was the abyss, and the master who controlled everything.

A commoner with no powerful background, admitted to the academy through a special program, effortlessly won the favor of a Federation major general. Proud young masters bowed their heads to him, while the mad student council president became submissive and infatuated with him...

The long-quiet forums came alive. From then on, his legend spread across the academy.

People revered his strength, admired his composure, and were captivated by his instinctive kindness. Before they knew it, they were bowing their heads and following in his footsteps.

He was the Federation's hope, and no one questioned it.

The beginner System stared dumbfounded at the plot going off the rails. Its slacking Host had completely changed, calmly taking responsibility for everything.

He stood in the wind, carefree and confident.

Ji Lin: Yeah, that's me.
