Ashina Yun Que, a pitiful girl from Dongling.
She traveled a thousand miles into enemy territory, hoping only to catch a glimpse of her sworn enemy, Yang Yunge, the Longbei commander of Great Zhou, rumored to be "cunning as a fox and mercilessly bloodthirsty," and see what he looked like.
Her chance came! The Longbei military headquarters was offering a huge reward for a miracle doctor to treat Yang Yunge's... uh, "minor ailment that only men get, is deeply taboo, and is too embarrassing to mention."
Yun Que slapped her thigh. "What a perfect opportunity!"
After sneaking in and taking a look, she shook her head repeatedly. "Tsk, such a handsome man with this condition? There's no cure. There's really no cure!"
Yang Yunge appeared with his hands behind his back. "Oh? Didn't you see the notice saying 'Failure to cure him means forty strokes with the military rod' when you took the job?"
Yun Que shuddered. "I can cure it! I absolutely can! Don't worry, General!"
And so she began her intensive treatment using all sorts of "secret techniques."
One day, General Yang came in person to show her what "instant results and a remarkable cure" meant...
...And then she ran away, stealing Longbei's military secrets.
At the front lines, she was bound up like a dumpling and traded for a chance for Dongling's army to survive. The man she'd "cured" and then deceived coldly ordered, "Shoot every enemy soldier."
Not long afterward, she became a concubine of Dongling's new khan.
She had lost her memory and remembered nothing of him.
Yet the man who should have hated her to the core came to Dongling to find her.
He stayed by her side, doing everything he could to keep her from sharing the khan's bed.
Before long, rumors that Yun Que had a secret lover spread through the Dongling palace.
After one passionate encounter, Yang Yunge bit Yun Que's earlobe and whispered, "Yun Que, if you're done playing this game of pretending to forget me, I want to help you become Dongling's khan."
Lighthearted at first, sweet and angsty in the middle, sweet toward the end, happy ending.
A note of caution:
If you've read Yang Clan: First Snow and are very invested in the Yang Yunge and Sister Cen pairing, read with care.
Let's leave Yang Yunge at his most perfect.
To learn about Yang Yunge's past, read my other novel, Yang Clan: First Snow.
The eldest brother, Yang Yunxiu, is a devoted romantic; the second brother, Yang Yunze, is clear-eyed yet lost in love. And Yang Yunge? He's playing with fire~
Theme: Growing together.
Thank you to heaven, thank you to earth, thank you for your hard work~
