[Brilliant and Courageous Daughter of the Minister of Justice X Sharp-Tongued, Proud Vice Minister of the Court of Judicial Review]
In the thirty-ninth year of Qingyou, Jiang Xingzhi, Minister of Rites, commits fraud in the imperial examinations.
The crime is exposed, and the entire Jiang family is found guilty.
But on the night before their execution, a silent, sudden fire consumes all 111 people in the household. The estate is reduced to ashes, and not a single person survives.
In the tenth year of Xuanxiao, the second daughter of the Chang family, from the Marquis of Jining’s household, is inexplicably caught up in a bizarre official’s murder case while on her way to pray for her family.
More bizarre still, she encounters three “troublesome people.”
A noblewoman who won’t say what she means, a prince with a bizarre way of thinking, and that bastard who makes her grind her teeth in rage and nearly sent her to meet the King of Hell.
He “kills” her, she plays him.
He drugs her, so she makes him lie outside her residence all night.
He reports her for sneaking out of her residence, so she mocks his self-importance.
Neither gives an inch.
Meanwhile, cases pile up in the capital.
The Eight-Year Mute Cover-Up, the Waiting by a Lone Lamp Case, the Heartfelt Defense Case...
By a twist of fate, the four people who investigate these cases discover that they are all connected. Clues to long-buried secrets, hidden beneath the snow, gradually lead them to the ruins of the Jiang family estate.
Twelve years ago, the corruption case against Vice Minister Guo brought down many noble families, and even wealthy merchants in Guangzhou and Jiangnan were implicated.
The waters are deep, and dragons abound. The tides of officialdom rise and fall.
On one side, princes and nobles collude to confine the emperor; on the other, a vassal king seizes the opportunity to rebel.
Amid the flying case files, they catch a glimpse of a royal secret buried for more than a decade.
Chang Ximing once thought she and a certain someone would never cross paths again.
She never expected him to go back on his word.
“Weren’t you going to marry Miss Jiang?”
“Are you jealous?”
Only at the very end does she learn that the long-sought Jiang family orphan, who was believed dead, is actually her.
Xie Yuli smiles. “I really am going to marry Miss Jiang. Will you marry me?”

Blurb:
It is said that "Records of the Eighteen Hells" states:
Those who frame and provoke others enter the Tongue-Pulling Hell, where their tongues are hooked and their throats torn.
Those who sow discord between kin are confined in the Iron Tree Hell, where blades pierce their bodies.
Those who embezzle and commit arson fall into the Volcanic Hell, where flames consume them.
Those who cut corners and skimp on materials descend into the Knife-and-Saw Hell, where their bones are shattered and their bodies dismembered.
“If anyone in this world commits the evils recorded in this book, the ghosts of the Eighteen Hells will track them down. No one can survive.”
When Wen Zhixu, who has finished her studies at Wangchen Valley and returned home, receives word that her senior brother has gone missing, she recalls his words. She accepts the urgent mission and sets out to find him.
Shen Zhaoxing, heir to the Prince of Huai and an official in the Yunnan Office of Judicial Administration, is ordered to investigate a strange case.
Instead, he keeps running into a young woman who barges in uninvited and disrupts his investigation.
The two clash at every turn and refuse to give way.
Meanwhile, on the trail of the culprit, the daughter of a merchant and the adopted son of the Imperial Medical Academy’s director are drawn into the case.
The four meet through these events, each with their own agenda, and work together to unravel a sinister plot. They also discover that an invisible hand is controlling a series of seemingly unrelated cases.
Later, at a palace banquet, Wen Zhixu catches sight of her senior brother and moves to investigate. The next moment, a figure in blue blocks her path.
Shen Zhaoxing smiles without warmth. “Yuanyuan, you clung to me shamelessly for so long just to find this bastard?”
Wen Zhixu’s eyelid twitches. She suddenly senses a dangerous, unfamiliar air about the man she has always disliked, the one who acts like nothing matters.
As the cases progress, the four catch glimpses of secrets involving a Nanzhao hostage prince, dark schemes deep within the palace, and covert plans to bring peace to the realm.
Amid the strange and sinister events, the punishments of hell reach into the human world. As their bonds grow deeper, the four will ultimately uncover the layers of truth hidden within the kingdom’s great political intrigue.
Theme: No matter how many trials you endure, keep your heart turned toward the light and never stop moving forward.
After reading it in a hurry, the author's writing skills are good and the plot line is also good. Only the emotional line between the male and female protagonists is inferior. Then the supporting characters were emphasized a little more. The full text only has about a hundred chapters. Under normal circumstances, this number of chapters is not enough for the plot line, let alone the emotional line. The setting is good but the emotional line loses readers. The whole story is finished and there is no intimacy, the only one is the rescue under water. No extras either. I don't know if the next book will be better, but I suggest you don't write too much about the emotional lines of the supporting characters. It would be much better if the male and female protagonists were improved and combined with the plot. I quite like the author's male and female protagonists.
Finished reading on May 28, 2026. It took me about a week to read it. The pace was a bit slow in the early stage and I couldn't really get into it, but I gradually became attracted to the case and the group portraits. After I got into it, I couldn't stop it. I stayed up late watching it every day [covering my face and laughing] and saw one or two points every day. I opened my eyes in the morning and continued watching 😆. Overall, I still admire the author after reading it. There are many clues buried in the story, some of which I guessed and some that I didn't guess (especially the foreshadowing of the finale 💔 which tortured me to death). I watched the team disperse from the beginning to the four people swearing to fight for justice in front of the tomb in the middle of the night. In the end, everyone showed no hesitation. I was really moved and moved by the slapstick fights in the early stage and the life-and-death friendship in the later stage. Moreover, the author really made them three-dimensional when shaping them, and everyone was very real. I was deeply impressed by the chapter about the quarrel. When the group portraits get together, there will be quarrels. It would be abnormal if there were no quarrels. Only by quarreling can the problem be put into perspective. From another angle, maybe only by quarreling can we understand the problem [covering face and laughing] After the quarrel, they were all reflecting on each other, and they were all very talkative! Throughout the whole story, I felt that no one was perfect. Every character in it has his or her own black and white side. Jiang Xingzhiguang, Feng Jiyue, and his learned disciples are all over the dynasty, but he also has selfish motives when facing his own family. Although it was not his intention, he finally agreed to Su Yunhe's death for Ayan; Yang Zhiheng, one of the top three in the First Class, also has a high official position and the most benevolent heart. In that case, no one believed that he would be the final murderer, but he finally said I am neither a saint nor a god, I have all kinds of emotions and my own selfish motives. In order to avenge my friends, I still used my students, and finally died on a rainy night. The heroine Baobao was actually shaken at the beginning. She put the interests of the family first, and she was also confused whether to pursue her or not. Justice, but in the end he still chose to cry out for the wronged; and the last Prince Rui, although I guessed that he was behind the scenes very early, the way he died in the end was beyond my expectation. He conspired to rebel and killed Zhongliang and was not willing to be imprisoned in the palace while his accomplices enjoyed the Due to his high reputation, he is not a good minister, a good brother, or a good husband, but he is a truly good father. His heart will be soft because of Ming Ji, and he will jump off the city wall to leave him a way to survive. But what is very sad is that Ming Ji left earlier than you [explosion] Crying] Liu Po, Chang Sinian, Chang Yaoxi, Yuan Jinyu, Yang Zhiheng, Luo Yu, Luo Ningzhen, Luo Ninghe, Yu Mushroom, Gu Huaizhen... The stories of all the characters are very embarrassing, and the story has always told the complexity of human nature, but you must choose the path of a clear conscience. In the end, Little Sun Mingji's death cry made my eyes hurt [I burst into tears] and the recycling of the foreshadowing was even more boomerang. Mingji couldn't defend his father's crime, but he couldn't hate him either. He couldn't forgive himself and couldn't face Miaoyi. Miaoyi knew that all of this had nothing to do with Mingji, but her identity as the son of her enemy couldn't let her completely let go of her grudge. After thinking about it for a long time, I really have no solution. I thought Mingji would gradually become alienated, but this is still very cruel and uncomfortable 😭 There are so many graves to be visited during Qingming Festival 😭 Ming Ji, Little Sun, has considered everyone and forgives everyone. You are really great 😭 We will always remember you! 😭 The situation in the last dozen or twenty chapters really dealt a big blow to everyone in the team, it was so painful and painful growing pains 😭 When did the author get the inspiration to write a side story? Can you please 🧎🏻♀️ It was so painful to watch the finale. Although it was as satisfying as possible, I was still a little bit overwhelmed 😭 and squatting for a new article by the way 😆
The end of the flower show ~ I don't want to swallow the knife at the end 😭 😭 😭
Joker is just like me and loves to comment 😚😚😚
So the daughter has changed, but the mother doesn't know? But does both father and grandfather know?!
I hope the typos will be corrected. I've read Chapter 30 and I've seen a lot of typos. I hope the author will correct them again.
It's really slow to lay the groundwork ahead.
Finished watching it, it's great! It's just that the ending is a bit disappointing without an extra episode 🥺 I really want to see After the Marriage! Let's make sweets and make sweets [Spread flowers] [Spread flowers] I still think that the ending will be four people setting out to solve the case again, and two couples 😭 😭 😭 😭
"They" gave the author a big bug ~ they
