They Went Mad After the Hated S-Class Leader Destroyed Themself

[He was the empire's top leader, whom we forced to his death with our own hands. He is also the nightmare we can't stop dreaming about.]

Ludwig, the empire's only S-rank leader, vanished without a trace in an explosion that killed both him and the invaders.

Ten years after his "death," the empire had fallen apart and the federation had risen.

The people who had driven him to the brink now wielded power across the land, yet one by one, they went mad.

After ascending the throne, the former crown prince grew sinister and tyrannical, using the power of the throne to scour the world for every last trace that Ludwig had ever existed and declaring his name forbidden.

The saint's faith collapsed completely. He spent his days and nights repenting and practicing asceticism in the temple, his hair turning entirely white.

The marshal's son defected from the empire and founded the federation, but his fighting style grew ever more frenzied.

A rising star in the medical world fled to the federation, taking Ludwig's last sample with him. He wanted to cure Ludwig, but also to keep him imprisoned on the dissection table forever.

He had once been their light, but they snuffed it out with their own hands.

Now he has returned from the abyss, his face ruined, his powers incomplete, and a child at his side.

The once-unattainable members of the other races now beg him with tearful eyes and humble voices:

"Ludwig, Your Excellency Xiao Ping, please look at me just once more..."

"Please... release your mental power one more time, even if it's only to punish me..."
