One day, while giving a makeover to someone who had died unexpectedly, Lin Ye saw a line of text that no one else could see.

After that, he became terribly unlucky and eventually died in a car accident.
When he woke up again, he found himself in a horror instance.
The [players] here were all wicked criminals who had committed countless evil deeds. They had to endure one terrifying ordeal after another and purge their sin points before they could be reincarnated.
Lin Ye checked his stats.

Lin Ye couldn't figure out why he'd been sent to hell. He had always obeyed the law and helped others.
He didn't like socializing with the other players. They were real bad people.
As a corpse beautician, he had seen plenty of horrifying things.
Even in a horror instance, Lin Ye carried on with his life as usual: getting up and going to bed on time, completing the tasks the System assigned him, and spending his free time doing what he loved: making all kinds of delicious food!
Later, he realized the monsters in the horror instances neither scared him nor ate him. They just loved chasing him around.
Lin Ye thought the menacing black shadow was adorable, so he fed it jarred soup. "Now that you've had my soup, could you help me take apart that ghost gate?"
Later still, his "pets" grew from one to four, and he even made them a pet growth journal.
[Bone-Eroding Shadow: After three servings of soup, it learned to help me take doors apart. It just loves licking me, and it's all wet. I don't like that.]
[Grudge Doll: I sewed him new clothes and gave him two cupcakes. Now he helps me find hidden clues, but he still likes hiding my underwear and clothes. I'll make him another outfit next time.]
The other players were losing their minds. "Are we even allowed to survive anymore?! Why have even the little monsters in the instances gotten so strong?!"
One day, Lin Ye watched the Bone-Eroding Shadow pinning the BOSS to the ground and beating it up, and fell into deep thought.
"Did I... feed it too much?"
The BOSS raged helplessly on the ground. "This is outrageous! Who's the BOSS in this instance, anyway?! Why is this minion so much stronger than me?!"
