A secret crush is a private war waged by two people. Jiang Shiyu and Chu Yannan stand out wherever they go, their brilliance shining even in a crowd, yet they can't help feeling timid when they meet each other. After hesitation makes them miss their chance, they reunite and are inevitably drawn to each other all over again. This time, they choose to bravely face everything life has to offer, good and bad.
As long as you're by my side, I'll have endless courage.
After hearing Jiang Shiyu say she was willing to get married, Chu Yannan asks, "You've decided just like that?"
"It's not just like that. I've thought long and hard about marrying you."
"You'd better be sure. Once you're aboard my pirate ship, there's no getting away for the rest of your life."
"I'm not going anywhere. As long as you're by my side, I'll never leave."
"Then, Xiaoyu, I'll ask you one more time, properly. Will you marry me?" Chu Yannan had somehow produced a ring and was already kneeling on one knee on the bed. He looked at Jiang Shiyu with utter sincerity, his voice trembling slightly with nerves. If you looked closely, the hand holding the ring was trembling too.
"When did you buy it?" Her tears from before had barely dried, and now fresh ones were welling up in her eyes.
"A long time ago. I've wanted to propose to you in so many places: on that snowy night in Paris, in the Alps, beneath the old tree on my campus, on the first night we moved into this home... Even on countless nights while you slept, I wanted to slip the ring onto your finger."
"But you don't like grand gestures, and I didn't know whether you were ready. It wasn't until tonight that I finally decided to take it out."
"Don't cry, Xiaoyu. If you keep crying, I'll be uncomfortable kneeling on the bed. Could you show me a little kindness first?"
