[Damsel in Distress 🐰 * Sinister Powerful Official 🦊] The powerful man bows his head for love
The day the Prince Consort's residence was topped out, the sun shone bright.
Sun Jiwei stood beneath the gallery, holding the plans and gazing up at the old place, now completely transformed. Her expression was somber.
In the shadows not far away stood a tall figure in purple robes and a jade belt, radiating noble elegance.
An attendant stepped forward with a smile. "My lord, the wedding is near. The furnishings throughout the residence have all been arranged according to the Prince Consort's specifications and inspected. Not a single detail is wrong. Who'd have thought this young craftswoman would be so capable?"
Liang Tingrao watched the person beneath the beam. After a long pause, he said evenly, "Reward her."
As he turned to leave, he heard her laughing and talking with someone behind him, quizzing an apprentice: "What do you call it when a projecting beam has no bracket set beneath it?"
He closed his eyes. For a moment, he was back at the Chancellor's residence on that day of torrential rain, when she had picked his manuscript out of the mud and smiled at him without a second thought.
His Adam's apple bobbed. In a low voice, he answered, "It's called... stealing a heart."
