Starting with a Farm Stay in the Interstellar Age

Li Ying transmigrates several thousand years into the future. Humanity has just found a new home and is moving from its spaceships down to the planet's surface.

But thousands of years of interstellar travel, with its military-style management, scarce resources, and cramped living quarters, have caused an epidemic of emotional deficiency, becoming a major social problem.

Li Ying: No pretty clothes, no delicious food, and entertainment is only available in virtual networks. There isn't even a speck of green on the ship. How could this not cause problems?

To treat herself, Li Ying rents a mountain on the new planet, works diligently to build a house and farm the land, and starts a livestream on the Star Network.

The first day of the livestream:

"How poor do you have to be to work the land yourself? Can't you afford a robot?"

"This is way too inefficient. It's dirty and tiring. You could be doing work that creates value instead."

"Soilless cultivation is already widespread, just so you know."

A week into the livestream:

"Wait, why am I still watching such a boring livestream?"

"How is it boring? Don't you think there's a real sense of achievement in building a house with your own hands? The seeds we planted have sprouted, too!"

"...I'm kind of tempted to try it."

While a bunch of people with emotional deficiency argue online, someone privately messages Li Ying, offering to pay for the chance to try her work.

Li Ying: That's an option? Come on over, everyone's welcome!

The livestream announces a trial opening for its farm stay, instantly drawing a flood of mockery.

"Only an idiot would go. You pay money just to come back covered in dirt."

"Exactly. Nobody go. This is obviously a scam. Stay alert for telecom fraud, starting with you and me!"

"? Maybe check your own location before you say that?"

The interstellar netizens argue in the livestream every day, and the emotional fluctuation readings keep climbing.

One day, several familiar figures drift through the corner of the livestream. The Alliance's chief executive, an expeditionary force general, and a leading scientist from the Academy of Sciences are all smiling as they work enthusiastically.
