Graduation is just around the corner, but Mu Xing, an arts student, still hasn’t found a job. So she prays to the heavens for a well-paid position with guaranteed job security.
To her surprise, that very night she arrives in another world and becomes a bounty hunter, gaining a master and companions. She must immediately face off against the Zombie King, who transmigrated a month before her and is said to have claimed a mountain as his domain, terrorizing the surrounding lands.
Once she calms down, Mu Xing realizes this is a bizarre parallel world, neither ancient nor modern, neither Eastern nor Western. No one has ever heard of zombies. A few people besides her possess supernatural abilities, and hers is earth-based.
She has no memories of this world and knows nothing about it.
Besides the bounty hunters she has just met, who call themselves the "Raven Rations," she is also being pestered by Yi Xi, the young and beautiful deputy court head, who claims to be her fiance.
She can only follow these people as they investigate why she transmigrated and uncover the truth about this world.
After a hard-fought battle, and with Mu Xing's knowledge of zombies, they successfully buried the Zombie King. But then a string of mysterious numbers appeared in her field of vision. Could burying monsters from other worlds be the way to get home?
A month later, another creature from another world appears: a female ghost consumed by deep resentment, seemingly impervious to anything.
Mu Xing discovers that monsters from other worlds are drawn to one another. From that moment on, surviving in this mad, bizarre world becomes her greatest wish!
And to survive, she must become the one and only, most powerful Monster Burialist!
Reader's Guide:
1. The romance between the leads isn't a major focus. The story centers mainly on the dungeon arcs, interwoven with the main plot. The leads are faithful to each other, and the ending is happy.
2. The dungeons include some horror and suspense, but only mildly so.
3. The female lead is the protagonist, and only she can bury monsters. Or rather, only monsters can destroy one another.
4. The male and female leads grow over the course of the story and are not perfect characters.
5. The novel is told in third person, though chapter summaries sometimes use first person.
Theme: Self-reliance and perseverance
