When Nan Yi opens his eyes, he finds himself trapped in a game where he has to complete challenges according to its rules. He has lost his memory and has no money to his name.
After clearing the "beginner level," he keeps getting thrown into high-level games where death is all but certain. But he discovers that he seems to be a walking bug, always able to break the rules, and may even have the ability to "travel between worlds."
In one of the high-level games, he runs into a handsome green-haired guy named Meng Zhou.
Meng Zhou thinks this pretty boy is fascinating. He's clever, and he can even exploit bugs in the game. Most importantly, the ghostly trinket that had been lifeless for years starts heating up whenever he gets close.
They happen to meet again in later games, and Meng Zhou won't leave him alone, constantly teasing him with that sharp tongue of his.
"Hey, Bug Brother, still not thinking about teaming up? I deal damage, you break the game. We're a perfect match!"
"..."
"Got nothing better to do?"
Meng Zhou only gets more interested. He hooks an arm around Nan Yi's shoulders. "Aw, my trinket heats up whenever you're near. Maybe you're the one fate picked for me?"
Then, one day, Meng Zhou accidentally witnesses Nan Yi's cold, lifeless "body" across countless timelines.
"Wait... This isn't right... It seems like something is changing...?"
"They say quantum travelers are the guardians of the world. But what if the 'world' itself is a lie?"
"Come on. Let's tear down this rotten order together!"
One-on-one romance: cold-faced bottom x outwardly flirtatious, inwardly unhinged top.
The worldbuilding is a little ambitious, and the romance is a mix of sweetness and heartbreak.
"We're not overthrowing a game. We're overthrowing divine authority."
Romance: He runs, the other chases, and he's got nowhere to escape (not really).
Theme: Existing is itself meaningful.
