Shen Shuo's Diary
Shen Shuo, an oceanographer from the future, accidentally transmigrates to the world before the apocalypse and becomes the real young master in a story about a pair of switched-at-birth boys.
By chance, Shen Shuo sees Song Huaixu, the founder of the Ocean Bureau, on a variety show. Song once brought clean water to the apocalypse, giving a dying world a little more hope.
It's just a dating show, right? He's in.
And so the production crew and viewers witness this:
“Professor Song, would you like some fruit? I've cut it up for you.”
“Professor Song, would you like some water? I'll give you a drink.”
“Professor Song, I want to stay by your side forever. I want to be with you for the rest of my life.”
The viewers: This dog food tastes great.
The production crew: I swear, this absolutely isn't scripted! If it is, I'll eat shit!
Song Huaixu has a problem lately. He only meant to do a friend a favor, but he never expected to run into a clingy little guy on a dating show.
The little guy is cute even when he puts on a cold face, and he's always trailing after Song. He calls him “Professor Song” every other word, and it melts Song's heart.
Song Huaixu is ten years older than Shen Shuo, so he thinks further ahead. After they get married, where will they live? The little guy still has college to attend, so Song will have to take him to class every day.
Before he knows it, Song Huaixu has bought countless things the little guy likes and even prepared a cozy little home for them. Now all that's left is for Shen Shuo to confess.
Song Huaixu reassures himself that perhaps the little guy is shy, and since he's older, he should be the one to break the ice.
One day, Shen Shuo asks Song Huaixu out to dinner on Qixi. Song puts on a suit and tie, picks up a bouquet of roses, and heads to the restaurant.
Shen Shuo stammers, then finally manages to say, “I really want to do research with you.”
Song Huaixu: ???
Flowers, candles, a rooftop restaurant.
