Bai Zhi transmigrated into a cultivation novel full of angst and became its white-lotus female side character. This white lotus was not a figurative one, but an actual white lotus. She sacrificed herself for the male lead and was humiliated by several demonic cultivators. Even as she died, she believed the male lead would come save her. At that very moment, he and the female lead were in love and spending the night together.
Bai Zhi: A disastrous start... No! I need to find someone powerful to cling to!
In the original story, Lu Qinghuai, the only chief personal disciple of the Chaoyun Sect's leader, was tall and handsome, with impeccable manners. His aloof nature drew plenty of criticism, but...
There was no denying he had all the makings of a reliable backer!
Bai Zhi's eyes lit up, and she grabbed Lu Qinghuai's leg, refusing to let go.
Lu Qinghuai went down the mountain to exterminate demons. Bai Zhi: Take me with you, Senior Brother!
Lu Qinghuai's headache flared up. Bai Zhi: Let me ease your troubles, Senior Brother!
Bai Zhi, whose heart and thoughts were entirely occupied by Lu Qinghuai, accidentally learned that the upright senior brother she regarded as a paragon of righteousness would fall to demonic cultivation later in the story and slaughter the Chaoyun Sect. Not one of the thousand-plus people in the sect would survive.
Bai Zhi: I picked the wrong person to cling to? Why didn't anyone tell me sooner?!
To save herself, Bai Zhi faked her death and fled, but Lu Qinghuai, now fallen to demonic cultivation, caught her. The senior brother who had always been so aloof and controlled seemed to go mad as he murmured, "Zhizhi, you'll be safest by my side."
Bai Zhi: Big brother! Do you even know you're the villain?! Stop trying to recruit me!
