Loyal sentinel Chu Zhaoling x white-knight guide Bai Shuonian
The youngest captain in the Operations Department, Chu Zhaoling, has a secret. In high school, he had a crush on Bai Shuonian, the only son of the Tower District's chief administrator.
Bai Shuonian was as bright and pure as the moon. His gaze toward everyone else was always cool and distant.
The irreverent Chu Zhaoling fell in love with him at first sight, but the difference in their status meant he could only keep his youthful feelings buried in his heart.
Years later, Chu Zhaoling suffers a devastating defeat on a mission. His entire team is wiped out, and his longtime partner goes missing. The blow leaves Chu Zhaoling shattered, and for a time he loses his faith in life.
No one could have imagined that Bai Shuonian, now a man of great standing, would resign from his post and come to Chu Zhaoling's side as his guide. After years apart, the snow within him has melted. He is gentle and patient, helping Chu Zhaoling out of the darkness bit by bit. Chu Zhaoling sinks into the warmth and comfort he brings, almost convinced that an angel has descended from heaven.
Only later does he learn that Bai Shuonian isn't an angel, but a demon with an angel's face.

Bai Shuonian also has a secret.
He isn't human. He's a clone of the chief administrator's son, who died young.
