Kitten, kitten, run quickly
They all say that kittens have nine lives.
My name is Amber. I think what they said is probably true.
Mi's first life ended in a warm cardboard box. I was very young at that time, and I only remember that the smell of "mom" was gone, replaced by the sweet milky fragrance of a little girl. She called Mimi "Mimi" and her fingers were soft. But later, the carton was placed far away, and the milky smell could no longer be found.
The second life was given to a man who smelled of smoke and wood. He would scratch her chin with his rough hands, and she would make a purring sound. His home is large but always quiet. Until one day, he could no longer move and his body became as cold as the winter floor.
The third life, the fourth life... Mi can't remember all the faces, only some fragments: the sweet smell of cat food, a pair of eyes of a girl who always cry red, a little boy who always likes to dress Mi in ridiculous clothes, and a glass window that is always closed and can see the birds outside.
I learned not to ask "why" and not to expect "forever". Human eternity is too short for Mi.
Now, it's probably the ninth life.
In today's homes, there are automatic food-dispensing machines and soft cat nests. The owners will shovel poop on time and occasionally shake the cat's stick in front of the cat's eyes. They are very good.
But I'm so tired.
It's not that I'm physically tired, it's that the place in my heart that is making noise seems to stop ringing.
The sun shines on the carpet, as warm as the day of my first life. Mi walked over and curled up.
Humans are calling me again, probably because they want to take pictures or just want to touch me.
Mi closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep.
This time, I don't want to spend my life loving anyone anymore.
Kittens have nine lives, so they meet nine owners.
Now, Mi just wants to rest.
Really, I really want to take a break.
