This was my first attempt at writing a long novel, and I gave this one far too many elements beyond my ability to handle. I scrapped and rebuilt the world three times. The second version was already 300,000 words, but I still didn't feel there was enough I could publish. Rewriting over and over left me drained and out of practice, and I was also hit by some unexpected real-life troubles. Last November and December, and for two or three months this year, I had to put the story aside because of family changes and work pressure. The more I wrote, the heavier it felt, and the worse it became.

I broke my promises again and again and wasted the readers' time. That was my mistake. I'm incredibly grateful that you trusted a new author enough to read my work, and all the more sorry for letting you down. I feel guilty and desperate to write the story well, but no matter what I do, I can't get it right. I've wasted everyone's time for nothing. However you look at it, I was terribly unprepared when I started this story. I apologize again.

Writing this story has nearly flattened every fold in my brain, but I absolutely won't give up. Once I quit my job and take some time to rest, I'll come back after taking it off the paid list and finish it bit by bit, giving the story a proper ending.
