To investigate the struggle between the forces of different Paths, the Genius Society and the Garden of Recollection join forces to launch a research project called the War of the Paths, built around a scepter. Seven test subjects use the scepter in the spatial city of Babylonia to calculate data for Pathstriders representing the seven Paths, then use Memoria to manifest them. The seven teams fight one another for the right to use the scepter. The winner can use it to perform one calculation for themselves, such as asking how to make a wish come true. The experiment lasts for up to seven days. After seven days, the scepter will format the Pathstriders' data.
During the experiment, the scepter grants the test subjects an ability called a Command Spell, which can forcibly alter a Pathstrider's thought processes. Each subject can use it three times.
