On a northern peak of Cangtan Mountain stands Qingyou Hall.
Legend says that the hall was built in the fifth year of the Xuanguang era by an immortal traveling through the area. Made entirely of white marble, it glimmers beneath the moonlight like a fairyland.
Two ancient sandalwood trees stand before the hall. Nourished by the mountain's spiritual energy, their leaves stay green year after year.
Before the hall lies a lotus pond, veiled in mist, with lotuses like jade.
The first time I saw my master, the frost had yet to fall. The moonlight was like water, and he wore white, like an immortal descended from heaven.
Then, through countless seasons and countless years,
I saw the immortal before Qingyou Hall. As I grew older and my appearance aged, his remained unchanged,
just like the ancient sandalwood trees before the hall, evergreen year after year.
