It's been 25 years, and I suddenly felt like reheating this old dish QAQ. I'm currently saving the whole story before posting.
Diamond A crossover, forget eight
--Story Introduction--
After falling out with her two childhood friends, both baseball idiots, Onodera Nagi unilaterally made a big decision and ran off to study at Seido in West Tokyo.
But Seido... is a baseball powerhouse, too?!
And the baseball team's coach is someone she knows from before?!
I'm doomed, Haryuuka! I can see your West Tokyo shadow clone at Seido!
Onodera had planned to stay away from baseball after starting high school, but then she discovered that the person sitting in front of her was a pitcher on Seido's baseball team.
Not only that, he'd even lost his position as pitcher because of something indirectly caused by the catcher.
Onodera Nagi got so angry that she puffed herself up, held up one finger, and spoke earnestly to the boy.
“Listen, Sawamura. A catcher is supposed to fulfill a pitcher's every wish and help him become number one. So this is all that jerk of a catcher's fault.”
“...Wow, that's so cool?! Onodera!”
CP: Miyuki x Onodera
--Bonus Scene 1--
Onodera's self-introduction: I'm really good at cheering up catchers. (Because cheering up pitchers is the catcher's job, she has to do it herself when it comes to cheering up catchers.)
Kei: That's right. When Nagi and I were little, she hit a lot of home runs to cheer me up. (Kicks her feet happily.)
Miyuki: Tch... (grits his teeth)
--Bonus Scene 2--
Takahara Rei recently discovered a promising talent at Seido.
The good news is that this girl, who is said to be a monster hitter, can hit home runs to cheer up both pitchers and catchers, and has nearly ten years of experience taking care of her pitcher-catcher childhood friends.
The bad news is that girls don't have a place in Koshien.
Content warnings:
1. The author's baseball knowledge comes from anime and Baidu, so please don't overthink it.
2. The author wants both Little Hand and Seido to make it to Koshien, so the West Tokyo location where Little Hand is based has been given a new name.
3. Since 2021, the final of the national high school girls' baseball championship has been held at Koshien. This story follows the Diamond A timeline, so women's baseball hasn't attracted as much attention yet.
4. The story contains a mountain of original worldbuilding, and there are original characters besides the heroine.
5. In this story, the heroine, Haryuuka, and Kaname Kei all played rubber-ball baseball together in elementary school. In middle school, the heroine was allowed to join a junior baseball team as an exception, but couldn't play in official games because she was a girl.
