Doomsday Survival, but It's Only a Demo

Peng Chijing receives a demo of a post-apocalyptic survival game, touted as the world's first full-dive game of 2035.

Peng Chijing, bad at games but eager to play: There's no way I'm missing out on this.

She eagerly preorders it. She can't bear to spend another day in 2034.

The moment the game arrives, she logs in at top speed.

Good news: It really is full-dive.

Bad news: Why do I have a mouse and keyboard in front of me?

In 2045, humanity faces the apocalypse. Natural disasters rage, man-made disasters are everywhere, and Earth becomes a playground for players of infinite-flow games from another world.

A new religion rises, and its high priest prophesies that the savior will arrive on New Year's Day, 2050.

January 1, 2050.

They welcome their savior: a completely bewildered Peng Chijing.

The savior is powerful, but stubborn.

Whenever she sees a wall, she has to run up to it and jump around.

Peng Chijing, hammering W + Space: Damn this platforming nonsense! I'll take you on! Where's my double jump?!

The savior is cautious, often using only her spear to poke at enemies from a distance.

Peng Chijing: This is the time-honored chip-damage sword style of us hopeless noobs. I refuse to believe I can't whittle you down, you stupid BOSS!

The savior also refuses to take the usual path. Whenever she sees a cliff, she has to climb it, claiming it's a "shortcut."

Peng Chijing: Why don't you swing across? Come on, follow me. Hold down the left mouse button and grab with your left hand! Hold down the right mouse button and grab with your right hand! That's it! Now swing yourself up!

The survivors: This world is beyond saving.
