Shen Mingyi, a diligent employee of the Administration Bureau.
One day, she transmigrates into the role of the vicious side character being hunted by the original novel's male lead. Her family is ruined, and she's all alone.
To stay alive, Shen Mingyi follows the System's instructions and latches onto Hu Wang, supposedly the Demon King.
At first, she thinks Hu Wang is an unpredictable lunatic. After taking a closer look, she thinks he's rather pitiful. After getting tangled up with him a little longer, the rascal shamelessly starts calling her "Sister" and even insists she sign a contract.

Later, the once irresponsible young man gradually grows up.
He doesn't protect Shen Mingyi by keeping her behind him. Instead, he personally teaches her how to fight back.
He keeps pretending to be pitiful with that pretty face, yet personally helps her rise to success.
Even when Shen Mingyi falls, he only smiles and tells her to try again.

They call her the divine envoy Siyue, who saves the people from suffering.
They call her the head of the Shen family, who uses her success to help all under heaven.

On their wedding night, just after the two drink their nuptial wine, someone knocks on the door.
A newly appointed adviser waits outside in the middle of the night with documents in hand. "Master, the hall sent over some urgent documents. I can't handle them myself."
Hu Wang hasn't even had a chance to curse him out when an elder who followed Shen Mingyi speaks up too. Holding a cup of hangover tea, he gently reminds them, "My lord, there are some matters in the clan that need your decision as well."
The groom grits his teeth to himself. They're all cunning foxes a thousand years old. How could he not know what they're up to?
