A Beautiful Corpse

Xie Li works as a forensic pathologist at a small-town police station.

With his excellent professional skills, he has helped the police solve countless cases. Since then, every body from the surrounding towns that they can't identify through an autopsy gets sent to him.

Then one day, a classmate working in a neighboring town died unexpectedly, so Xie Li volunteered to take over the work his classmate had left unfinished.

Near dusk, a young man's body was hurriedly brought in. The person who delivered it was deathly pale and trembling, as if something had frightened him on the way.

Xie Li put on his gloves and opened the body bag, taking a look at the man inside.

Under the pale lights, the bones in the man's wrists were sharply defined beneath his cool, white skin. He lay quietly on the cold metal table.

Mm, very young, fair-skinned, and handsome. Just his type.

Too bad he was dead.

Just as Xie Li picked up the scalpel, he suddenly sensed something.

Out of the corner of his eye, in the darkest corner of the morgue, a man identical to the corpse was leaning against a refrigerated body cabinet, staring at him without blinking.

Xie Li's hand paused.

Oh no. He didn't seem to be dead.
