The Demon Lord as a Substitute

[Scheming Archvillain Who Plays Dumb (Cheng Zhiyi) x Fake Domineering, Actually Immature CEO (Lan Xu)]

In his previous life, Cheng Zhiyi did every kind of evil and ultimately met a horrible death.

Fortunately, he'd already prepared a way out for himself:

The modern-day "Cheng Zhiyi" was a freshly minted adult with an acceptance letter from a prestigious university, good looks, a cheerful personality, a wealthy family, open-minded parents, and an older brother who was a movie star...

Cheng Zhiyi: Haha, what a wonderful life

Cheng Zhiyi: Wait, I'm a "substitute"?

Why had nobody told him that this newly adult Cheng Zhiyi had found himself a powerful patron?

His patron, Lan Xu, would provide the money and effort, while Cheng Zhiyi would play the part of Lan Xu's beloved white moonlight.

To secure his place, Cheng Zhiyi had no choice but to date Lan Xu.

Luckily, Lan Xu was a good person, and Cheng Zhiyi had a great time.

The only problem was that Lan Xu would occasionally say inexplicable things that made Cheng Zhiyi reveal his true nature.

Lan Xu: "Beg me, and I'll give it to you."

Cheng Zhiyi: "How dare you speak to me like that!"

Lan Xu: "?"

Cheng Zhiyi: "...Mr. Lan, do you think I'm acting like him?"

Lan Xu: "Not at all! QAQ!"

Cheng Zhiyi forced a smile. "Don't cry, baby. How about now?"

Lan Xu wiped the corner of his eye and said primly, "A little better."

After he let his real self slip so many times, Cheng Zhiyi finally came to his senses: Lan Xu wasn't an idiot.

So, the next time Lan Xu said, "You're not him," Cheng Zhiyi asked outright, "You mean I'm not Cheng Zhiyi, right?"

He grabbed Lan Xu by the throat. "Then who do you think I am?"

Lan Xu kissed the corner of his lips. "Master... dear friend. It's been a long time."

Cheng Zhiyi smiled. "So this isn't the time for you to kill me anymore?"
