Something like the JJ novel The Sacrificial Prince in the Boy Group Auditions and the Tomato novel I Got a Cheat During My Trainee Career. Lots of forum-style posts, with every fan being a solo stan. Anyone who ships a pairing gets accused of mooching off them and flamed. The protagonist should be miles ahead in every way and be called the group's main character.
