Real tomb robbing, technical flow. When I was twelve years old, I studied with my grandfather. The soil of Han tombs has a burnt smell, the soil of Tang tombs has a sour smell, and the soil of Song tombs has the fragrance of camphor wood. Things in puddles have a layer of "water bones" to the touch, but things in dry puddles don't. The slurry of the real bag is warm from the inside out, while the slurry of the fake bag is cold as it floats on the surface. The porcelain I have touched can tell you the kiln mouth and age without looking at it. Just weigh, touch and knock it. This set of skills was passed down by Mr. Jiao Si and is called the "Twelve Methods of Identifying Counterfeiting". I combined it with my experience in the medicine shop and turned it into the four methods of "look, smell, ask and feel" - look at the complexion, smell the smell, ask about the origin, and feel the pulse. Cultural relics are the same as medicinal materials. Real things have a heavy Qi; fake things have a floating Qi. In this self-report, I wrote about this set of skills. How to identify the fish scale patterns in the soil filled in Han tombs, how to read the network mud marks in the soil sealing in Tang tombs, how to dig out the soil sealing for porcelain in the Southern Han Dynasty, how to touch the water-exposed porcelain from shipwrecks in the Song and Yuan Dynasties, and which angle is the safest to dig holes in sand-filled tombs - I have written everything I can. There are some things I didn't write about. For example, the jade seal that my grandpa brought out from the tomb of the King of Nanyue in 1948 had four symbols engraved on it. I have been researching for decades and have seen it on the bottom of porcelain jars in the Southern Han Dynasty, in tomb inscriptions of the Song Dynasty, on stone pillars at the bottom of Yangjiang River, and on the base of stone platforms in Shunde underground lakes. It appeared from the Baiyue era to the Qing Dynasty and does not belong to any known writing system. For example, the submerged stone building 40 nautical miles off the coast of Yangjiang. My grandpa wouldn't tell me what it was. He said: There are some things you shouldn't know, so don't ask. I didn't listen.
