I’ve read so many stories where the leads are each other’s only partners, the female lead gets ridiculous later on, the emperor favors her for no reason, and her family is low-ranking but somehow she can skip several ranks at a time. I want a palace-intrigue story that makes a bit more sense, please, I’m begging you.
