The ghost stories in the past were so scary that I didn't dare to go out in the middle of the night. Nowadays, horror novels are so boring that I can't stand them. They are not as scary as the ghost stories I rented from a bookstore for 30 cents for a day when I was a kid.

I highly recommend the first book, "Strange Stories from Minshan". Based on a large number of Minjiang stories and Minjiang legends, the author outlines the origins of the ancient Shu civilization and the mysterious Sanxingdui civilization. If you are interested in the history of ancient Shu and the Sanxingdui ruins, you must read this book. It is really good. The author's conjectures combined with folk stories are really well-founded and very readable!
