Those Beyond the Reach of Neon Lights

The neon lights of Binhai New City never go dark. Millions of surveillance cameras weave a vast web, yet there are always blind spots beyond their reach in this dazzling city.

A skeleton sealed away for ten years is suddenly unearthed in an underground ventilation shaft in Xingguang Residential Complex. The evidence points to Wen Zhixia, a young woman who disappeared ten years ago.

Former detective Lu Shen was the officer forced to close the case back then.

With incomplete surveillance footage, contradictory testimony, and neighbors harboring their own secrets, the truth lies buried beneath layers of real estate money, old secrets, and shattered intimate relationships.

He steps back into this neon-lit blind spot, investigating the murder behind the skeleton while confronting his long-buried guilt, his broken marriage, and his crumbling faith.

Everyone is lying.

The brighter the lights, the deeper the shadows. Some crimes are hidden in the blind spots of the city, where no one is watching.
