Lin Wanwan refuses to accept her fate. With nothing but a pretty face and a sharp mind for figures, she fights her way from a tumbledown village shack to the Wanxiang House in town. A poor scholar offers her buns, a hunter blocks her door with a knife, and the richest young master backs her with his money. Of the three men, she will choose just one. When her adoptive parents throw a tantrum, she hands them a rope; when the shopkeeper tries to sabotage her, she douses him in oil. From a village girl to a first-rank noblewoman, the whole village waits to see her make a fool of herself. She has the last laugh.
