I Braved the Torrential Rain to Deliver a Life-Saving Heart, and the Whole City Turned the Lights Green for Me

A torrential downpour floods Jiangcheng, paralyzing traffic across the city. A donor heart, newly matched to a patient, is stranded on the South City viaduct!

The recipient is the only young son of a fire chief who just died on the flood-control front lines!

The ambulance can't get through, helicopters can't fly, and there are only ninety minutes left in the critical transplant window!

Lu Ming, a food delivery rider saving up for college, looks at the organ transport cooler in his arms and makes a solemn vow on livestream: “I'll swim to Provincial Hospital if I have to. This delivery is getting there!”

After activating the Urban Parkour and Driving Mastery System, Lu Ming rides his little electric scooter across the floodwaters and leaps over a broken bridge using a billboard!

At first, the mall security guards along the route lock the doors tight, afraid of being held responsible, while online trolls mock him for putting his life on the line for show;

But when footage of him covered in blood, still fiercely guarding the cooler, spreads across the internet, all of Jiangcheng is fired up!

Hundreds of food delivery riders form a convoy of their own, linking arms in waist-deep rapids to create a human breakwater;

An excavator operator races ten miles in his loader and uses its enormous bucket to carry Lu Ming across the roaring breach in the dam!

The official account of the Jiangcheng Traffic Police Corps pins a message to the top of the screen: “Don't stop, Lu Ming! All two thousand traffic lights in the city have been locked on green for you, and three amphibious aircraft are waiting on the hospital rooftop!”
