Stop Trying to Talk Me Out of It! The System Gives Me Money, So I’m Going Back to the Village to Open a Supermarket

Zhou Ye got laid off and returned to his village. He slapped the notice down on the battered counter at the village supply and marketing cooperative. "I'm renting this place." His father rushed in to snatch the contract. "Don't..." Before he could finish, a payment notification from the System popped up, with just enough to cover a year's rent. Zhou Ye looked up. "Don't try to talk me out of it."

The System only gave him money, and he could only spend it in the village. If he tried to do nothing and save it, the System even urged him to "hurry up and find a project."

On opening day, sales came to just 320 yuan, and the whole village laughed at him. By the seventh day, people from three neighboring villages were arriving on tricycles to buy stock, and his payment limit jumped to a new tier. Jealous, the owner of the town supermarket cut off his upstream supply. Zhou Ye didn't argue. He brought in the village Party secretary, turned the cooperative into a wholesale outlet, and invited the villagers to buy shares.

When the list of shareholders was posted, his father tore it up in front of everyone. But on the night torrential rain washed out the village road, the old man cursed as he shouldered the first sack of sand, and for the first time the entire village followed Zhou Ye through the night to make repairs without asking for pay.

From a broken-down supermarket to an industrial supply chain spanning the whole county, the villagers went from "That kid's crazy" to "Zhou Ye calls the shots." The System's final notification read: "Mission complete. System entering sleep mode."

Zhou Ye sat outside soaking up the sun. When someone came to discuss a new project, his first question was, "Are you going to try to talk me out of it?" Only after they said no did he get up.
