[Zombie King in the 1970s, Transmigrated-into-a-Book Cannon Fodder, Factory-Area Power Fantasy, Food So Good It'll Make You Cry]
Mu Wan, the strongest Zombie King of the apocalypse, is blasted into the sky by a nuclear bomb. When she opens her eyes, she's become a short-lived cannon fodder character in a 1970s novel: the daughter of a woman who serves food in the machinery factory cafeteria.
The original owner was reported for stealing cafeteria lard. Both mother and daughter lost their jobs, were sent to the countryside, and died miserably in the wilderness three years later.
The moment Mu Wan opens her eyes, she's so hungry her front and back are practically touching. A bowl of thin sweet potato porridge, clear enough to see her reflection in, almost brings her to tears.
To fill her stomach, she relies on the freakish body she had as a zombie, impervious to blades and bullets, and gets assigned to the factory's toughest foundry workshop. Others can't lift the sledgehammer, but she swings it one-handed. Molten iron splashes over her, and she doesn't even blink.
The more she works, the more she earns. The moment she gets her ration coupons, she heads to the cafeteria and orders three portions of braised pork!
Everyone at the factory says the girl is obsessed with food. She just smiles and doesn't deny it.
But in secret, she notices something off about the cafeteria's lard. The person who reported her mother is hiding a secret far more serious than stealing lard.
Even more surprising, the cold-faced male lead of the book, the factory's youngest Grade Eight fitter, keeps staring at her while she eats.
Mu Wan licks her lips. First she'll eat her fill, then settle the score. As for that man... meat tastes better than he does.
What she doesn't know is that every change she makes is tearing apart the original story. And behind the ending she has knocked off course lies a truth no one wants to face.
Sounds weird
