I Snatched Jinlian from the Start and Passed the Palace Exam as Top Scholar

If the Wu family had a brilliant scholar and warrior who became the top graduate in the prefectural exam, would the tragedy of Water Margin still happen?

Wu Chongzhi transmigrates as the son of Wu Dalang's late uncle. Grateful for the care of the elder brother who raised him like a father, he vows never to let the Wu family repeat its tragic fate!

Step one: Steal fate's prize! He marries Pan Jinlian before she turns corrupt, making her a virtuous and devoted wife to a top scholar.

Step two: Rise through the imperial examinations! With his photographic memory, he places first in the county exam and earns the title of top graduate in the prefectural exam. An essay of his leaves Zeng Bu, the court's Right Chancellor, applauding in admiration, and he takes Wu Chongzhi on as his personal disciple!

Step three: Amass the wealth of the realm! On the very day he passes the provincial exam, local gentry compete to offer him land and pledge their support. Five acres of poor farmland become five thousand acres of fertile fields!

His neighbors are Hua Zixu and Li Ping'er, who keeps sending him flirtatious glances. His household has just taken in the pretty maid Pang Chunmei, who fled famine, and on the street he runs into the heedless Ximen Qing...

With the Flower Stone Convoy disaster approaching, along with the Jingkang humiliation twenty-six years later (to be unlocked in a later installment), Wu Chongzhi clenches the iron fists that can subdue a tiger with his bare hands and raises the brush that can secure the nation:

"In this life, I'll protect the Wu family, and I'll change the fate of the Great Song!"
