Mind Reading Sets Hearts Ablaze: The Hot-Tempered Detective's Darling

[Mystery and Criminal Investigation + Everyone Can Read Minds + Comedic Contrast + Brilliant Case-Solving + Major Standalone Cases]

Lin Zhiwei, a forensic intern with connections, joins the Major Crimes Task Force at the Municipal Public Security Bureau.

She has a sweet, innocent face, faints at the sight of blood, cries easily, and can't even bear to watch someone slaughter a chicken.

Lu Jinhan, deputy captain of the criminal investigation team, is aloof and arrogant. He relies entirely on instinct to solve cases and is always the first to charge through the door.

At a booby-trapped crime scene set by a serial killer, Lu Jinhan is about to kick the door in and storm the place.

Lin Zhiwei grabs his uniform, eyes brimming with tears. "Captain Lu, don't go in. It's so dark in there, I'm scared..."

[Kick it in! Hurry! The doorframe is rigged with three kilos of thermite. One kick and tomorrow morning we'll be piecing our body parts together into a nine-by-nine Rubik's Cube!]

Lu Jinhan freezes in place, his mind roaring.

During a manhunt for a serial killer in the mountains, Lin Zhiwei loses her footing and slides down a slope. The killer lunges at her with a feral grin.

When everyone arrives, they see the delicate forensic intern clutching her head and screaming, while her foot pins the killer's broken leg firmly to the ground and her scalpel is held steady, just one millimeter from his carotid artery.

"Captain Lu, he fell and ran into my blade himself. Boo-hoo..."

Lu Jinhan wipes away a cold sweat. "...Put the knife away first. Don't cry. I'm begging you."
