After Moving into Listening Snow Garden, the Ascetic Monk Breaks His Vows Night After Night

[The aloof master of Beijing's elite steps down from his pedestal] [Forced proximity and simmering tension] [A young traditional Chinese medicine doctor × a powerful man with insomnia] [He has been plotting this for years] [A devoted couple, each other's first and only]

Everyone in Beijing's elite circles knew that the Shang family's head, Shang Lu, was aloof, taciturn, and obsessively clean. A strand of black agarwood Buddhist beads never left his wrist, earning him a reputation as an untouchable Buddha among mortals.

Wen Li was the cherished youngest daughter of a traditional medicine family in Jiangnan. In the year she graduated from medical school in Beijing, her place was being repaired and her older brother had to rush overseas.

Taking advantage of the circumstances, her brother entrusted her to Shang Lu, his most trusted friend, and arranged for her to stay at the strictly regulated Listening Snow Residence.

Before she moved in, her whole family repeatedly warned her to keep three meters away from the obsessively fastidious Mr. Shang. All of Beijing's elite watched from the sidelines, betting on how many days it would take before the girl from Jiangnan was kicked out.

No one knew that Shang Lu had suffered from migraines and insomnia for years, and that the clean scent of disinfectant and herbs on Wen Li was his only cure.

It began with restrained acupressure in the middle of the night, then became legitimate "exposure therapy" through physical contact.

Behind the scenes at the hospital, he cleared obstacles from her career and helped her become a disciple of a renowned master of Chinese medicine. In the courtyard house, he gradually shed the disguise of a proper, dignified elder, drew her into his arms, and began a shameless secret romance behind her brother's back.

The Compendium of Materia Medica records: Shang Lu is cold in nature and poisonous. Wen Li, however, is just the remedy to soothe dryness and dispel toxins.

Everyone said that Doctor Wen's superb medical skills had made the aloof Buddha fall for a mortal and break his vows night after night.

Only Shang Lu knew there was no fateful coincidence behind her staying with him. He had held back and restrained himself for four whole years, waiting for his girl to walk right into his trap.
