The Educated Youth of the 1970s: My Water Vat Connects to a Hema Supermarket

Su Ruanruan, the only daughter in her family, is sent to the countryside to join the labor force. The whole village bets that this delicate city girl, with her soft skin and tender flesh, won't last three days. The green-tea villainess waits for her to cry, while the local hooligans are eager to take advantage of her. But Su Ruanruan isn't worried at all, because she discovers that the abandoned old water vat at the educated-youth compound leads straight to the modern-day RT-Mart Supermarket! Farm work too exhausting? She buys a weed-pulling gadget at the supermarket, then rewards herself with an iced bubble milk tea. Food too awful? She heads straight to the deli for half a Peking duck and two pounds of garlic crayfish. While everyone else comes to the countryside looking sallow and thin, with rough hands, Su Ruanruan not only stays rosy and fair, she secretly uses supermarket skincare products to cultivate impossibly smooth, luminous skin. When the green-tea villainess is willing to trade her virtue for an egg, Su Ruanruan gazes at the cherries and durian she's just bought from the water vat and sighs with a troubled look. “I ate a little too much today. I'd better take some digestive tablets.”
