I Asked You to Write a Tragic Romance, Not Slay Gods and Claim the Throne!

Shen Tingwan was bound to a screenwriting competition System, and her debut challenge was a difficult historical romance contest.

The theme of this round was: "Tortured love."

Every screenwriter was using the same tired tropes: the heroine ripping out her heart for the hero, jumping off a cliff, and enduring endless torment without ever wavering in her devotion.

Shen Tingwan gave a cold laugh and wrote a very different kind of tortured romance.

When the merciless immortal master pierced the heroine's heart, she didn't cry or beg. Instead, she broke through the divine and demonic seal that had been locked away for ten thousand years.

"If the Three Realms mean to make me a Buddha, then I'll slaughter every god and crown myself a demon!"

"From today on, even the lofty gods will learn what it feels like to fall into the mire!"

The plot raced ahead. The heroine not only refused to lose her head over love, she stole the hero's fortune and casually brought the Immortal Realm crashing down.

The audience went from reaching for tissues to leaping to their feet and cheering with excitement.

"We asked you to write tortured love, and you tortured the gods of the Immortal Realm until they were wiped out?"

"The heroine cuts her ties to love with one sword and ascends the throne. Isn't that ten thousand times more satisfying than all those weepy romances?"
