System Wholesale? Someone Turns Themselves In to the Nation Every Day

Gu Yi had just been transferred to head the soon-to-be-abolished Special Needs Resource Coordination Department. He'd meant to treat it as a stepping stone to slack off, but then a fourth-year college student called in for help.

"Help, Director! I bound to the Tycoon System, and if I don't spend ten billion today, I'll be erased on the spot!"

Faced with a deadly countdown, Gu Yi promptly produced three top-secret national procurement lists.

Consumables for ignition in controlled nuclear fusion, a water diversion project in the western deserts, and research into special steel for a new aircraft carrier!

"Come on, scan to pay. If that's not enough, the country has more!"

He spent ten billion in two minutes. Three bottleneck projects were revived on the spot, and he even wrangled the System's reward: a complete set of blueprints for room-temperature, ambient-pressure superconducting materials!

Before the veteran academicians could recover from their shock, the local police station called again.

A first-year medical student had bound to the Top Student System and needed to hand-build a nuclear reactor by the end of the day, or lose all his remaining lifespan?

Gu Yi waved a hand and assembled the nation's top nuclear physicists to teach an online class. The tycoon provided the money, the top student provided the brains, and together they used room-temperature superconductors to build a desktop-sized "artificial sun"!

The Food System, the Revenge System, the Gaming System, the Healing System...

As Hosts of all kinds of bizarre Systems came looking for protection, Gu Yi leaned on the country's full institutional might and its top think tanks to begin harvesting benefits.

The Systems want to use missions to drive their Hosts to their deaths?

Sorry, but in the face of the country's overwhelming power, they all become free fuel for making the nation technologically strong!
