Highway Survival: While Others Flee for Their Lives, I Dismantle Evil Spirits and Modify Cars

All of humanity is dropped onto a highway of death. Everyone gets a wrecked car, and the water, fuel, and road signs along the way may all be out to kill you.

While everyone else hits the gas when they see a ghost, mechanic Lu Chen picks up his wrench.

He turns the skull of a headless female passenger into a danger-warning device.

He seals the vengeful spirit infesting a gas tank in a jar, then burns spiritual waste to pay rent for his car.

He removes the eyes from a hundred-eyed roadblock and uses them to make headlights that reveal fakes.

But the uncanny things don't obey just because you take them apart, and his wreck can't fit the whole highway. He has to fight for materials and repair the chassis, all while keeping new parts from coveting his shadow.

Only when the highway registers his car as a "mobile rule entity" does Lu Chen discover...

He arrived today, but this wreck had already left his name behind yesterday.
